What is this test?

The Thyroid Antibodies Test helps diagnose autoimmune thyroid disease and differentiate between other types of thyroid dysfunction. When thyroid disease is caused by an autoimmune condition like Hashimoto’s Disease, abnormal thyroid antibodies are typically present. Autoimmune thyroid disorders are distinct from other types of thyroid disease, although they can cause similar symptoms.

Who is this test for?

This test is typically used in combination with other types of thyroid tests to diagnose the root cause of thyroid disease and related symptoms. If you think you may have a thyroid disorder, we typically recommend the Complete Thyroid Panel to measure all aspects of thyroid health. This test can also be used to measure ongoing progress with managing autoimmune thyroid disease.
