Zika Virus Comprehensive Profile, NAA, Serum and Urine LabCorp

The Zika Virus Comprehensive Profile test is used for detection of Zika virus. This test is intended for the qualitative detection of RNA from the Zika virus in serum and urine from the individuals meeting CDC Zika virus clinical criteria and/or CDC Zika virus epidemiological criteria. Zika virus is typically spread via mosquito bites, although a woman with Zika virus infection who is pregnant can pass the virus to her developing baby. An infected individual can also pass to their partner during sex. 

There are no apparent symptoms in those infected with Zika virus, although some may experience mild illness with symptoms that may include fever, rash, joint pain, or redness of the eyes.
