GGT (Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase) test LabCorp
The GGT Test measures for Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase to identify liver and pancreas health.

What is this test?
The GGT Test measures Gamma-Glutamyl Transferase levels in your blood to diagnose potential liver and pancreatic disease. GGT is an enzyme most often found in the liver, but it can also be found in the pancreas, kidneys, and other organs.
Elevated GGT levels can mean the liver isn’t functioning properly, which is allowing GGT to leak into the blood. This test can also be used to differentiate between a liver condition or a bone condition. Elevated GGT levels can indicate a bile duct issue, as well.
Abnormal GHT levels can cause symptoms like fatigue, jaundice, stomach pain, general weakness, lack of appetite, and nausea, among other symptoms.
Who is this test for?
If you are experiencing potential symptoms of abnormal GGT levels, this test can identify whether a related condition is the cause. This test can also differentiate between conditions like obstructive jaundice, intrahepatic cholestasis, pancreatitis, biliary obstruction, or liver disease.
