The HPTA Stimulation Follow-up Lab Panel is designed to measure your progress on a Selective Estrogen Receptor Modifier (SERM) protocol like Clomid (also called Clomiphene). SERMs can be prescribed when comprehensive lab results show a need for stimulating the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Testes Axis (HPTA).
The HPTA axis controls much of the male reproductive system, and unusually high levels of Estrogen can impact how it functions. A SERM’s main job is to inhibit the production of Estrogen while increasing the production of Testosterone to bring the body into better balance. This can relieve low Testosterone symptoms including decreased sex drive, erectile dysfunction, mood issues including anxiety and depression, fat gain and difficult losing weight, and decreased muscle mass.
Who is this test for?
The Men’s Complete Wellness Panel can help identify whether there is a need for HPTA Stimulation. Qualifying patients can begin their SERM protocol and then order this panel within 4-5 weeks of starting their protocol. This panel helps assess your response and make adjustments if necessary.
